Hikari Saitō (1811-1893) focused on azaleas and rhododendrons for a picture album entitled Ippakuho Tsutsuji Fu (White Field Azalea Picture Album). It included the eighteen pages of pictures shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Hikari drew his picture subjects in a true to life way but did not include the album’s publication date.
